A few months ago on 3 Chicks Review Comics we interview the fabulous Majorie Liu about here work in comics and the challenge of female led books prompted by the cancellation of X-23. She told us about a pitch she had done to Marvel with Mike Perkins for an all-female team. You can hear her talk about it here.
Yesterday BC posted some of the artwork that Perkins developed for the concept and it looks amazing. Here’s a glimpse:
Awesome characters. Terrific writer. And look at the art.
Marvel didn’t pick it up because they didn’t think it would sell.
Why is that?
as a 23 year old male, yes i would read an All-Female Team book, in fact i’m reading the current Birds of Prey (also read the pre 52 version), Batwoman and Wonder Woman, from DC. I read the first 2 issues of Captain Marvel and it was fantastic! I’m upset that I haven’t keep up with it. Really looking forward to Amethyst and Catwoman now that there is a new writer. One of my personal favorite series is Power Girl when Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner where on the book. The reason I read this books because all this characters are awesome characters!

Because those characters are absolutely fucking awful? Of all the diverse and nuanced spread of personalities available...
If it was written well and the art wasn’t demeaning (looking at you , Wonderland), i’d be all over this. AND, I’m just...
Neat concept.
To answer the title question, if the series was written well, as it does, here, and the art looks great, here, then,...
YES!!!!
This should’ve (and still can) happen!!!!!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN, MARVEL!!!!!!!!!!
WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL.
